Cowl Neck Dress
I'm excited to share some behind the scenes photos of my Fall/Winter 2019 collection. It consists of three styles which will be available in two colors, the plum pictured above and a muted moss color. I expect to launch it next month and I'll make it available for pre-order with a discount.
If you follow along on Instagram, you probably heard that I had some issues with fabric for this collection. I selected and sampled these styles (plus a cowl neck top, a shirt version of the dress) in a cotton herringbone fleece fabric. I then contacted the supplier to place a bulk order and was informed that they had experienced some quality issues with certain color ways. I can't tell you how much I appreciated their honesty; they cold have simply sold me the fabric I was requesting. I had washed the fabric, sampled it, and experienced no problems (which isn't surprising since they also experienced no problems in that color). It's likely neither I nor my customers would experience any issues, but I didn't want to take the risk.
However, given the timing of this discovery, I had to scramble to find a replacement fabric and re-sample. A change in fabric can drastically change the way a pattern fits as a finished garment. I ended up going with the exact same fabric I used last year in this style. Y'all absolutely loved it and I was able to get it in two new color ways. They say everything happens for a reason, and this is the perfect example. The samples turned out even better in the new fabric (it has a bit of stretch), and I couldn't be more pleased!
