I absolutely love this time of year - the lights, decor, and festivities create such a warm and joyful atmosphere that puts me in the best mood. I enjoy walking around town and seeing trees wrapped in lights, decorations hanging from street lamps, and homes flickering with decor.
When my husband and I got married, we made it a point to start a few traditions of our own. One of my favorites is getting to see the Nutcracker annually at one of the theaters in DC. There are so many theaters in the area and different ballet companies that travel to put on the performance that it really is like seeing a different show every year. I love being able to go because it gives me an excuse to dress up.
But, with all of the holiday parties and events this time of year, it's easy to stock up on dresses that get worn once and then stuck in the back of your closet. This faux wrap dress is the perfect event, casual, and work dress. So, it'll be in constant rotation before, during, and after the holidays. I've worn it to client meetings, after hours events, the ballet, and casually with flats and boots (both riding boots and booties). For holiday events, I dress it up with a sparkly necklace and gold heels. It's definitely my go to as soon as the temperatures drop because of the long sleeves, thick, stretchy (yet not suffocating or sweat inducing) and hides-everything fabric.
