But, when commuting to the office every day or traveling for work, I need to be able to lug my laptop, charger, notebook, and a handful of other things with me. So, a crossbody just won't cut it. I have two go to bags that I love for work and travel.
My most recent obsession is this backpack from Fossil. I love that it looks more like a tote than a backpack and is big enough to hold my 13" laptop, a notebook, agenda, wallet, plus more. Plus, since it's a backpack, it doesn't weigh so heavily on one shoulder. But, it can be worn as a shoulder bag or carried by the handles. I've been reaching for it a lot, and always get compliments on it. Thanks to local DC fashion blogger Julien Garman for showcasing it - as soon as I saw it on her Instagram, I bought it because it was exactly what I'd been searching for!
My other go to is the ubiquitous Longchamp Tote. It's bigger than the Fossil backpack, and can be neatly folded up as an extra bag when traveling. I love that it zips (perfect for ensuring things don't fall out when it's underneath the seat in front of me when on a plane), and is water resistant. I tend to use it as my personal item when traveling with only a carry-on because I can cram it full (since it's not structured it can easily expand to fit a lot). I have the black and brown one and love the combination and that it looks great with a suit.
What's your favorite work tote? Is there one you like to travel with?
